Directional Drilling

A directional drill has become a great machine to use for geothermal installations. We can use this technology to install the loops with significantly less disturbance than digging an open trench but at a lower cost than vertical drilling. We also are able to run the loops under driveways, trees, building structures, etc. It is also a great application for ground that would be too wet for open excavation and can help get loops down into saturated ground which is great for conductivity. Directional drilling can also help to get the supply/return lines into your structure without having to dig up landscaping, sidewalks, driveways, etc. which may surround the building foundation. We can often drill right under the foundation floor or through a foundation wall.
